WHAT THE HECK ARE HASHTAGS AND WHEN SHOULD I USE THEM?

Hashtags are crucial for attracting new viewers on social media. Hashtags provide a simple way for people to search for content, and they give us the ability to track conversations about our brand, services and products. Because of specific, custom, and creative Hashtags created by The Boss Babe Association and Begin Rich, I’ve been able to reach a larger audience.

All across the world boss babes and female business owners ask about my go-to hashtags, so I created this list just for you, along with some information about what the heck hashtags are and really when to use them.

FAQS

Should you be using hashtags on social media posts like Tiktok, Pinterest, Linkedin and Instagram?

Yes, Yes, Yes, YESSSSSS!

Hashtags aren’t as important on Facebook, however it is still good to test it out. Typically, they won’t hurt your posts to use them, as long as you do it right.

Why? Hashtags make your posts more viewable and searchable - this means that your ideal paying customer can more easily find you. When your potential clients can find you, you can gain more followers with the intent of more like FOR more sales. The goals isn’t just to get more viewers, it is to get the RIGHT viewers, ones that will want to purchase from you.

How many hashtags is too many hashtags?

You can have up to 30 hashtags on each Instagram post, however algorithms suggest using 5-7 per post. Tiktok is much more niche with less characters allowed. What I suggest is trying all different things out - 5 on one post, 30 on another and everywhere in between. See how things change based on the number of hashtags you are using, because the algorithms are always changing.

Should I post my instagram hashtags in the comments or in the feed directly?

Short answer, personal preference. You might have seen people posting their hashtags in the first comment. This gives you more space to write your caption and it looks more neat and tidy. In addition, if you are wanting to cross-post to your Facebook business page you won’t end up with a messy Facebook post full of hashtags that aren’t really used on Facebook.
